Physiotherapist
Hanri Potgieter finds neuromusculoskeletal conditions extremely interesting because of the challenges these conditions hold to resolve pain and related symptoms after holistic investigation. She finished her B.Sc. Physiotherapy degree at the University of the Free State in 2012 thereafter she completed her community service year in Port Elizabeth.
In 2014 her private practice career started in Pretoria working under experienced physiotherapists. This challenged her to study further and obtained postgraduate certificates in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy and Sport Physiotherapy run by the South African Society of Physiotherapy. Consequently she dreamed of managing her own practice and Hanri Potgieter Physiotherapy was established in 2017 at lifeLAB medical practice.
Her special interests include neck pain and headaches especially related to posture and stress. She loves treating sport injuries and working with athletes to manage their recovery as well as achieve their initial goal to compete. She gained experience through treating many endurance athletes, particularly off road runners and triathletes, over the past 6 years. Injuries sustained in sports like dance, golf, tennis and CrossFit amongst others fascinates her because each patient has to be treated uniquely to their own needs.
She is one of only 40 Physiotherapists, Chiropractors and Orthopaedic surgeons in South Africa to be certified in Mechanical Diagnosis Therapy and uses this approach to evaluate and treat her patients.SPT1
